As a Rhoer, gaining community service hours for scholarships and awards is built right into the work you do with the club. Every service project, whether it is volunteering at a youth symposium, supporting a local charity walk, helping with a school supply or food drive, or mentoring younger students, counts toward your hours. You can also take the lead by suggesting projects that align with Sigma Gamma Rho’s mission, such as initiatives around education, health, and social action. Be sure to document each activity by signing in at events and asking the chapter advisor or project leader to verify your hours. These records not only prepare you for scholarship applications but also highlight your commitment to service and sisterhood.

Community & Sisterhood

  • Growing Together

Through service, we discover that together we can accomplish things none of us could do alone. Giving back teaches responsibility, compassion, and leadership, all while creating opportunities for others. When we prepare and serve together, we grow as individuals and as a community, leaving a legacy that inspires those who come after us.

  • Lifting Each Other Up

When we give back to others, we also lift ourselves higher. Community service is a way to show care, spread kindness, and make a lasting impact on the lives around us. Every small act of service, from volunteering your time to helping a neighbor, strengthens the foundation we all stand on.

  • The Power of Sisterhood

Sisterhood shines brightest when we work together for a cause greater than ourselves. Serving side by side builds bonds that go beyond friendship because you are not only supporting each other, you are also changing lives. True sisterhood grows stronger when we unite to give back, encourage one another, and use our gifts to serve the community.
